As a Product Manger for a multi-national fire extinguisher company it was a long-held desire to introduce a domestic extinguisher for the home, vehicle and caravan that did not require annual servicing and was easy to install and operate. Unfortunately, with the bulk of my ex-employer's revenues coming from servicing extinguishers, politics and commercialism prevented me from ever launching such a handheld aerosol extinguisher to run alongside their other larger stored pressure commercial extinguishers.
Now, all these years on, I have the chance!
Unlike businesses, I believe what most domestic customers want from an extinguisher is a product that does not does not need regular servicing and will take up as little room in the house or car as possible.
In addition, should a fire start, domestic users do not want to think too hard about what type of fire the extinguisher in their hand will put out. They simply want to pull the extinguisher's pin and put out the fire before it spreads rapidly.
SSP's new ABC aerosol fire extinguisher will allow you to do just this on almost every fire risk:
Class A: Solids like wood, paper or cloth
Class B: Flammable Liquids like petrol and volatile liquids
Class C: Flammable gases
Electrical Source Fire: sockets, laptops, toaster
