This startup pack is unbelievable value, it is easy to install, easy to setup and easy to operate. Being "Plug & Play" the CX-218 is specifically designed to meet the do it yourself security market requirements.

This stylish fully functional telephone offers many of the functions associated with an expensive professional intruder alarm system, and is capable of working with professional remote monitoring stations (see 1. below) or the customer can simply monitor their alarm by themselves (see 2. below) using self monitoring option to dial their own mobile number or the phone number of a friend or relative. The CX-218 package is so easy to set up that the whole process takes less than one hour.

The remote arm option is a really useful feature. Imagine realising that you've forgotten to arm your system as you are about to board your plane. With the remote arm option you can call your system up from anywhere in the world and by using the predetermined security code arm your system.

When the CX-218 detects intrusion, is deliberately triggered by the panic alarm or tripped by the smoke detector it will dial its pre-programmed number and open up a direct audio connection allowing the recipient of the call to react as follows (dependant upon whether option 1. or 2. has been chosen.):

If connected to a remote monitoring station the operator will listen in to the premises and decide upon a course of action. If obvious indications of activity are heard the operator can, by use of the built-in loud speaker, request a pre-arranged password from the people on site. If this password is not provided action is taken.
If the system has been programmed to dial a friend or relative that person can listen in to the premises and decide what course of action to take, such as using the built-in speaker to reassure the person on site that they are available to help or advising unwelcome intruders that action is about to be taken.
To attract the client's attention the friend or relative can cause the integral sounder to operate or increase the speaker volume so that they can be heard better.
