With its high pitched, internal sounder this product has been specifically developed to prevent malicious and unwanted activation of fire alarm call points.
How does it work?
As soon as the cover's lid is lifted an ear-piercing 96 decibel alarm (from 1 metre away) will sound, immediately deterring the would-be prankster from going one step further and raising the alarm. Only once the lid is return to the closed position will the sounder stop operating.
Applications
In last 12 months (to May 2011) SecuritySafetyProducts' parent company CW Technologies has installed over 100 of these alarmed call point covers into schools in and around the Manchester area. In CW's experience, the customer will initially order one or two for their problem areas. Once they have seen how highly effective they are, they will often return to order more of the same for the rest of the building.
This model is ideal for schools, colleges, hospitals, nursing homes, hotels and all public buildings where there is a history or a threat of false fire alarms.
Features
The Stopper consists of a clear, tamper-proof, tough polycarbonate cover and frame that retrofits over the break glass call point. The cover can be lifted to gain access to the break glass.
This version of the product is designed to protect surface mounted call points (fitted on the wall's surface rather than those that are partly or fully built into the wall).
The 30mm spacer at the rear of the cover can be used to easily accommodate any trunking coming into the call point itself.
