SSP's Emergency Door Release Button is unique in that it mimics the feel of breaking glass without the owner having to go to the cost and trouble of replacing the glass once it has been depressed. Being 100% re-usable, all the owner/operator has to do is simply insert plastic key provided into the front to reactivate the unit.
You can easily tell when button is activated Invariably when this break glass unit is activated it permanently unlocks a door until the unit is reset. To draw the attention of the a responsible person, an LED light will flash, a yellow line will appear on the unit and a 70 decibel buzzer will sound (buzzer can be set not to activate if this is a step too far for you or your client). To reset, simply use the key provided. Spare keys are available from the link below.
Prevent accidental activation To prevent accidental activation of the unit and to deter malicious activation of the button, SSP Emergency Door Release resettable Button comes with its own protective cover. This can be removed if you would prefer.
Flush or Surface? Supplied with a back box, this unit can be either surface mounted or flush mounted (if removed from back box). This will fit into a standard single gang electrical back box or plate.
No extra signage needed The words EMERGENCY DOOR RELEASE appear on the green plastic area above the break glass button. The standard safe condition/evacuation green is also used to ensure the button is easily located.

Guidance on installing an emergency exit break glass
The break glass must be in as prominent position as possible, especially if it is being used by members of the public. Ideally this should be as close to the door as possible as you want it seen in the case of an emergency. If you have to install it more than 1 metre from the exit door, then we would advise getting sign off from the local fire authority.
