Locking Radiator Valve Cover

For a number of years, SSP Direct have sold locking thermostat covers, to help everyone from landlords and schools through to concerned parents prevent tampering with the heating controller.

Our latest product goes one step further by giving building owners the ability to prevent people from tampering with the TRV. This may be for their own safety or to keep overall heating costs down.

Affixing the radiator valve cover:
The SSP Thermostop Radiator Valve cover should be slid down the back of the thermostatic radiator valve (TRV), with the clear hinges facing the wall. Before buying, ensure there is a gap of at least 2.5/3cm (approximately 1 inch) between the valve and the wall. Once it is slid into position, the clam shell design closes around the valve. The red retainer then keeps the cover shut whilst the padlock provided is fixed into position.

Things to check before buying:
Is there a gap of an inch/2.5cm between the valve and the wall (any less and it probably will not fit)
Is the combined height of the valve and nut underneath either 8.4cm / 3.3 inches or less? (any taller and it will not fit)
Is the pipe underneath the valve and fixing nut less than 30mm / 3 cm / 1.18 inches?

1.What made you choose to buy these products from SSP? We chose the locking radiator valve covers to prevent our clients with learning disabilities tampering with the radiator thermostat valves and to regulate the temperatures throughout the building. The price purchased was value for money and cheaper than ones we had previously purchased via a third party plumbing and heating engineering company.
2.What did you think of the product? The product was fit for purpose, of a good quality and practical given one key fits all.
3.What did we get right? Case greatly appreciated the discount offered by SSP and the next day delivery at no extra charge
4.What could we improve? Can’t think of anything however if I was to nit-pick, as a charity with strict purchase control systems, i.e. dual signatures, I would prefer to purchase via an invoice system on 30 days payment terms to enable the correct paper trail at our side.

Hi I needed radiator valves and a thermostat cover to stop my 98 year old Nan from turning her heating off as she has severe memory problems and fiddles with switches all the time.She is then found by her carers sat in a freezing home.
You had by far best products on the market. Your staff were utterly brilliant over the phone as I called several times and are a real credit to the company.
Utterly faultless and now we have a system in place that will stop Nan fiddling and potentially freezing to death.This is essential as she is determined to remain in her home and lives a round trip of 237 miles away.
