Featuring a sealed backbox, this weatherproof break glass, switch and button cover is designed to be installed outside or in harsh or wet environments.
Incorporating a completely sealed European standard single gang socket back box, this enclosure is designed to accommodate almost any button or break glass unit. Some of these are shown in related products below.
When should this cover be used?
Primarily all of SSP’s button covers shown in this section of the website are designed to prevent accidental or malicious misuse of essential break glass units, switches and door release and stop buttons. This IP66 enclosure has been developed specifically for housing buttons and break glass units outside or in harsh environments.
Previous buyers of this product have bought them for use outside, unclean manufacturing environments, offshore installations, swimming pools and car washes.
What does the IP66 mean?
The enclosed back box, 20mm thread point and sealed mounting plate are IP 66 rated. This means that this enclosure is "dust tight" and protected against “heavy seas or powerful jets of water”.
However, it must be stated that if the cover is briefly in an open position the IP rating does not apply, as the elements will be able – in part – to get to your button, switch or break glass unit.
Text on Your Enclosure
