Fire Safety

This section contains a comprehensive range of fire extinguishers to cover every type of fire risk.
Whilst our smaller 1kg and 2kg powder extinguishers and 2 litre foam extinguishers are ideal for the home, the larger (3litre/4kg plus) extinguishers are developed specifically with the workplace in mind.
The 2kg CO2 fire extinguisher should be used to cover all electrical risks, as well as risks posed by flammable liquids. Although ABC powder extinguishers can be used on this risk, ABC powder is not as clean an extinguishing agent as carbon dioxide. Effectively this means, should the fire be relatively small and caught in time, it makes it far easier for work to continue soon after it is set off.
To cover the risk posed by class A solid fires, we would recommend a foam exitnguisher over the more traditional water extinguisher. AFFF foam extinguishers have the same fire fighting capability in a smaller, more easily operated size. They also can be used on flammable liquid fires. Alternatively, if you just want a smaller extinguisher to tackle only class A (solid) fires, then we would recommend our 6 litre water with additive fire extinguisher.
If your workplace is highly hazardous and industrial, many customers do opt for the 6kg powder extinguisher. Small enough to handle, it addresses all risk types, from flammable solids, liquids and gases to electrical hazards.
Finally, for commercial kitchens we would always recommend our 6 litre wet chemical extinguisher. Developed in the mid-1990s, this extinguisher is a must-have where large quantities of fat or cooking oil are present. Other, smaller kitchens should always have at least one fire blanket to help smother people as well as pans.
All our fire extinguishers and fire blankets are available within 3 days, with all orders over £75+VAT going free.
