This popular locking socket cover serves a number of purposes:

It is primarily designed to prevent any unauthorised or perhaps infirmed person from tampering with electrical sockets and plugs
It can also ensure essential appliances are not removed or stolen
It has been proven to protect sockets from vandalism and accidental damage
Finally, some customers use this to control costs by preventing unauthorised people using their electricity

Specifications

This robust cover is constructed from toughened, 3mm thick, shatter-proof polycarbonate, and has a strong, vandal-proof camlock
This cover is clear so you can see what is plugged in and if the switch is on or off.
It comes with suitable fixings so can simply attach it over the top of your existing plug sockets. No electrician needed.
When attaching this cover, ensure that the plugs you want to use are already in place, as to release them you will need to remove the whole cover from the wall.

Vulnerable children & adults in the home
This cover provides huge relief to carers with vulnerable people living at home. Here are some of the scenarios we have been told about by our customers:

Public Spaces
Prevents equipment being unplugged or tampered with by unauthorised people in places such as shopping centres, offices and airports. This could also be used to lock-out sockets, to prevent them being used for unauthorised equipment.

Will this product work for me?
This cover is designed to fit over any double electrical socket that is either wall mounted or set within the wall. It is however worth checking the external dimensions of the cover (below) to make sure you have enough wall space around your socket.

If the cover can be accommodated on your wall and you do not need to change the plugs for the foreseeable future, this products offers you a way of permanently locking your plugs in place.

This cover has an optional hole at the top and bottom of it. This means it will work with surface mounted sockets with conduit wires going into the top or bottom of it. If the holes are not required, they can be easily and securely filled with the toughened blanking tabs provided.

What if I want a cover where plugs may need to be changed over time?
If you can foresee a time when you will need to change your plugs (eg, from a microwave to a toaster), you may be better considering using SSP-15597. This product has a small hole in the curved section of the cover, so it can be unlocked and plugs easily changed without removing the whole unit itself.

If I had any criticism I would say the items are a tad expensive, probably £5 less would be ideal. Quality of items is good and delivery quick

1.What made you choose to buy these products from SSP? A relative has dementia & Turns the wall mounted power switch off on her fridge/freezer occasionally, ruining the contents, the aim was to stop her doing this.

I’m very satisfied with your secure double lockable socket cover which I ordered to assist an elderly relative with dementia in preventing her switching off her alarm unit.

Thought it was a smart sign and looks very nice in position. Just what I wanted! Delivery was quicker than expected. In terms of improvement it would have been handy if you had supplied 2 black plastic screw caps to hide the fixings. Had to go out and buy a pack.

Service: Found the service 5 out of 5. Really good got the package within the time stated.
Product: The products are really good. My mother has dementia and lives at home. However she switches of gas central heating and moves the gas control to off. Has taken over a year to find products such as this. Would recommend you share your products with Social Services and Alzheimer's societies as none of these knew of these products. It has certainly given us peace of mind that my mum cannot switch off the heating now. We needed a locking device to go over power supply and plug socket however you did not have 1 single locking product that covered both. So we purchased a plug socket and the larger key lock. It was a tight fit and we needed to move the gas timer controls to fit both. It would have been better to get 1 cover. Something to consider with your supplier.

We were very pleased with the service provided.
We found the website easy to use.
Initially, we thought that the product (a lockable cover for a double electric socket) was a little expensive once postage and packing and VAT was added, but we needed to safeguard a family member with dementia so went ahead with the purchase. However, when it arrived we could see that it was of good quality, was easy to fit and operate and would say in hindsight that it does provide good value for money.
We had looked at a cheaper version on the internet but judging from the feedback it was inferior (with only a plastic key) and not worth the money. We feel we definitely made the right choice.
We would certainly use your company again.
